Spied: Pagani's hardcore Huayraby Drew Johnson
Pagani is putting the finishing touches on its upcoming range-topper.
The Pagani Huayra is already one serious machine, but the Italian automaker is working on an even more hardcore version of its hypercar. Our spy photographers caught up with that Huayra model on Friday testing in Europe.
Not much is known about Pagani's hardcore Huayra, but the all-out supercar is expected to be revealed ahead of the 2016 Geneva Motor Show. Pagani could actually be heading to Geneva with two new models as the company is also said to be putting the finishing touches on the roadster version of the Huayra coupe.
Although touted as "hardcore" by company founder Horacio Pagani, the Huayra previewed here isn't expected to be a track-only vehicle like the last-generation Zonda R. Instead, owners will be able to enjoy their range-topping supercar on public roads.
But just because they will be allowed on public roads doesn't mean you'll ever see one. Production of the all-out Huayra will be limited to just 20 units. All 20 cars will be offered exclusively to current Huayra owners.
Although we don't know much about it, you can bank on more power from Pagani's limited edition model. The standard Huayra packs a 700 horsepower punch from its AMG-sourced 6.0L twin-turbocharged V12, but that figure will almost certainly grow for the new car.
Of note, the Huayra's QR code camo takes you to a video about the development of the hardcore Huayra, but no further details are given.
