Spied: 2019 BMW M2 CS caught without camoby Byron Hurd
BMW's hottest M2 sheds its disguise.
The 2019 BMW M2 CS was caught testing alongside its big brother at the Nürburgring this week, giving us a look at the bodywork that makes this baby M car so gnarly.
Frankly, this is one of the best-looking BMWs we've seen in years. The base M2 is already a looker, but this takes the formula in a more-aggressive direction, giving it a look that is somewhere between an Alfa Romeo Giulia and a Dodge Charger.
The meaty styling on this CS model doesn't do anything to address the short rear deck--an inherent component of the 2 Series body. In fact, the rear spoiler even accentuates it a bit. On the other hand, those bulky rear fenders certainly don't hurt.
The BMW M2 CS will build on the M2 Competition package with more aero, more power, and less weight. What little camo remains on this tester (on the front splitter and rear spoiler) is disguising what are surely carbon fiber parts--hallmarks of the CS lineup.
Expect that to be accompanied by lightened interior components (seats, for example) and a bump in power. We expect to learn details fairly soon. Stay tuned.
