Redesigned Mazda3 hatchback to bow in LA?
The next-generation hatchback is said to be heavily inspired by the Kai concept.
Mazda is reportedly preparing to debut the fourth-generation Mazda3 hatchback in Los Angeles.
The redesigned hatchback is said to be heavily inspired by the Kai concept that first appeared in Tokyo late last year, according to Auto Express.
"We have a recent history of not just producing concepts for concepts' sake," said Mazda Europe design director Kevin Rice.
The Mazda3's bold new looks are expected to be underpinned by Mazda's new SkyActiv Vehicle Architecture and complemented by the company's latest powertrain technology. Known as SkyActiv-X, the modern engine is among the first production gasoline engines to employ both compression ignition and spark ignition.
More details could surface ahead of the Los Angeles Motor Show in November.
