Porsche reveals 2020 911 Carrera S, 4S Cabriolet
The turbocharged flat-six produces 443 horsepower in the S models.
Porsche has revealed the 2020 911 Carrera S and Carrera 4S Cabriolet, the latest variants of the 992 generation.
The convertible features a solid glass rear window and magnesium support elements. The top can be opened or closed in approximately 12 seconds at speeds of up to 31 mph.
The 992 generation features a wider body inspired by the previous-gen 911 Carrera 4 and GTS variants. For S models, Porsche's twin-turbo flat-six produces 443 horsepower and 390 pound-feet of torque. An eight-speed PDK transmission is standard, while a manual gearbox will be offered at a later date.
The company says its PASM Sport Suspension with stiffer springs and sway bars, along with a 10 mm lower ride height, is available on the Carrera S and 4S Cabriolet for the first time.
Drivers can expect to hit 60 mph in just 3.7 seconds with the Carrera S Cabriolet, while the all-wheel-drive 4S takes just 3.6 seconds. The times can be cut by an additional 0.2 seconds by purchasing the Sport Chrono upgrade.
The 2020 911 Carrera S Cabriolet has a starting price of $127,300 and the 4S edition will be offered for $134,650. Both are expected to arrive in US showrooms by late summer.
