Elon Musk says Tesla developing 'mini-car'by Justin King
The vehicle "can squeeze in an adult," he says.
Tesla may be working on a new mini-car to complement its larger vehicles, according to chief executive Elon Musk.
Responding to a Twitter user's inquiry about a "Radio Flyer Model X," Musk mentioned a development project for a small car "that can squeeze in an adult."
The comment could easily be dismissed as a joke, but many of Musk's seemingly tongue-in-cheek Twitter posts -- ranging from Boring Co flamethrowers to a Tesla Roadster in space -- have turned out to be serious.
Tesla has several confirmed vehicles under development, starting with the Model Y crossover and the Semi. The company is also working on a next-generation Roadster and a pickup.
If Musk isn't joking about a mini-car, it is still unclear if he is referencing a small street-legal vehicle or something more akin to a go-kart.
