Mercedes prices 2020 GLS by Drew Johnson
Mercedes' new flagship SUV will soon be on sale.
Mercedes-Benz has announced pricing for its all-new GLS flagship SUV. The 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLS is expected to arrive in dealer showrooms within the next few weeks.
The all-new 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLS will carry a base price of $75,200 for the entry-level 450 4MATIC. That compares to $70,150 for the current GLS 450 4MATIC. Both prices exclude a $995 destination charge.
Although a fairly hefty price increase, you do get a lot more for your money with the 2020 GLS 450 4MATIC. The GLS' engine has been upgraded to a 3.0L turbocharged inline-six that features Mercedes' EQ Boost mild hybrid technology, netting both better performance and greater fuel economy.
The GLS' tech has also been improved. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are now fitted as standard and the 2020 GLS uses a pair of 12.3-inch digital displays for its infotainment and instrument clusters. Safety has also been improved with blind spot monitoring, a surround view camera and car-to-x communication included on the 450 model.
The GLS will eventually be offered in a more powerful 580 guise; Mercedes will announce pricing for the GLS 580 4MATIC at a later date.
