Taking inspiration from the world of haute couture, the "Obsession with an Icon" campaign centers around a latex theme. Both Poly and the SL wear matching skintight peacock-blue latex wraps.
Mercedes-Benz commissioned renowned latex fashion designer Atsuko Kudo to tailor the latex wardrobes for Natasha and the roadster. The car required 130 square meters of material, combining five separate sheets glued and polished by hand.
"They are so similar- both are sexy, curvaceous and super shiny," Kudo says of the car and the model.
American photographer Jeff Bark chose a working quarry in Miami, Florida, as the shooting location, providing a contrast between rugged industrial elements and the SL's sleek lines and glossy latex.
"For me, my photography is only about light and color, so in this case I wanted to light the car to emphasize its form and three-dimensional qualities, but having the latex as a second skin so you could see the lines of the car in a new way," Bark said.
