Koenigsegg Edition CCXR

by Drew Johnson

Koenigsegg's CCXR was already one of the most extreme supercars on the planet, but the Swedish automaker decided not to leave well enough alone. Gracing the Koenigsegg in Geneva is the Edition CCXR. Based on the CCXR, the Edition CCXR features a body made completely of carbon fiber and without any paint. The Edition CCXR uses CCXR's twin-supercharged 5.0L V8 -- up from 4.7L and good for an astonishing 1018 horsepower -- that can run on E85 biofuel.

The result is a car that can go from 0-62 in 2.9 seconds, hit a top speed of over 250 mph and achieve 1.4g on the skidpad. That kind of performance comes at a price, though, with the Edition CXXR listing for â,¬1,500,000 -- a â,¬170,000 premium over the "base" CCXR. The Koenigsegg Edition CCXR will reportedly see a run of six vehicles, with most already spoken for.
