2020 Jeep Wrangler to get non-hybrid turbo engine, Black & Tan edition

Numerous powertrain and configuration changes have been detailed in the 2020 order guide.

After just two years on the market, the JL-generation Jeep Wrangler is apparently receiving several powertrain and configuration changes for the 2020 model year.

An order guide posted on JLWranglerForums indicates the Sport and Rubicon packages will get a version of the Wrangler's 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with auto-start/stop technology but no 48V mild-hybrid tech, known as eTorque. The non-hybrid edition has a $1,500 lower price tag than the current hybrid powertrain.

The 48V technology will also be available for Sahara models purchased with an automatic transmission and the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6, while the EcoDiesel V6 will be available for all Unlimited models including the Sport, Sahara, and Rubicon trims.

The 2020 lineup adds a new appearance package, Black & Tan, that features a tan soft top, matching cloth seats, two-tone wheels, and a few other aesthetic upgrades.

The company has not yet officially announced changes for the 2020 model year.
