Parent Jaguar Land Rover is allegedly intent on building an electric SUV, but undecided on wether it will be a Jaguar or a Land Rover.
Jaguar is reportedly considering an all-electric SUV or crossover to rival the Tesla Model X.
Parent company Jaguar Land Rover is said to be intent on building a battery-powered SUV, but it has not decided on wether to launch such a model under the Jaguar or Land Rover brands, unnamed sources told .
Previous reports have focused on an , potentially arriving as a member of the Range Rover family. Such an offering would likely have to be adapted with a more streamlined form and a reduced ground clearance to maximize range.
An electric version of the , based on the XE platform, would naturally start with a more streamlined shape and less of a need to meet Land Rover's off-road requirements.
The latest report suggests a plug-in hybrid will arrive on the market before an all-electric model, allegedly as early as 2017. The standard F-Pace is slated to ship sometime in 2016.
