Jaguar introduces F-Type British Design Editionby Ronan Glon
The British Design edition gains subtle aesthetic upgrades and bigger brakes.
Jaguar has introduced a limited-edition version of the F-Type called British Design.
Based on the F-Type S, the British Design edition gains specific 20-inch alloy wheels finished in dark gray and new emblems on both ends. Both the convertible and the coupe models come equipped with Design Package that bundles a gloss black front splitter, body-colored side skirts, and more aerodynamic rear bumper. Buyers can choose can order the limited-edition model in red, white, blue, or black.
The cabin has been spruced up with carbon fiber trim on the center console, black leather upholstery and contrast stitching offered in red, ivory, or blue. It also gains British Design Edition emblems on the center console, on the headrests, as well as on the sill plates.
Jaguar hasn't made any mechanical modifications, meaning the British Design edition is powered by a F-Type-sourced supercharged 3.0-liter V6 engine that makes 380 horsepower at 6,500 rpm and 339 lb-ft. of torque from 3,500 to 5,000 rpm. Bolted to an eight-speed automatic transmission, the six-cylinder sends the F-Type from zero to 60 mph in 4.8 seconds. Jaguar's Super Performance Braking System, which adds bigger rotors and sliding calipers on both axles, comes standard.
The 2017 Jaguar F-Type British Design will go on sale in the coming months. Pricing information and availability will be published in the weeks leading up to its launch date.
