Ford previews modified Fusion Sports for SEMAby Ronan Glon
The SEMA show is a few short weeks away.
Ford will introduce two lightly modified Fusion Sports during this year's edition of the SEMA show.
Finished in blue, the first model was built by a tuner named Legacy Innovations. The twin-turbocharged 2.7-liter V6 engine remains unchanged, but Legacy Innovations has added a K&N air filter and a new exhaust system sourced from MagnaFlow. A look under the Fusion reveals it's fitted with BC coilovers and upgraded brakes provided by Baer.
The Fusion Sport rides much lower than stock. It gains a hood scoop, a body kit, and 20-inch alloy wheels wrapped by Toyo Proxes T1 Sport tires.
Painted white, the second SEMA-bound custom Fusion was developed by Webasto Thermo & Comfort North America. There are no major mechanical modifications to report, but the six-cylinder gets a preheater system, a remapped ECU, and a MRT Performance exhaust line. JMS PedalMAX has improved the throttle response.
Handling is improved by a H&R Performance suspension. Visually, it receives 20-inch wheels wrapped by the same tires used by Legacy Innovations' Fusion, and a Kevlar body kit that includes a front splitter and side skirts. Finally, the cabin gets a sunroof manufactured by -- you guessed it -- Webasto and a custom Katzkin interior.
The SEMA show opens its doors in Las Vegas, Nevada, on November 1st. We'll be live in the City of Sin to bring you images of the good, the bad, and the ugly from the show floor.
