Callaway introduces most powerful Corvette model to dateby Drew Johnson
Callaway is cranking the Corvette Z06 to 11.
Performance tuner Callaway Cars has introduced its most powerful Chevrolet Corvette model to date. Based on the new , Callaway's latest model generates a tire-shredding 757 horsepower.
The Corvette Z06 is already one potent machine in factory tune, delivering 650 horsepower and the same amount of torque from a supercharged 6.2L LT4 V8, but Callaway has significantly turned up the wick for its latest offering. By increasing the size of the Z06's supercharger by 32 percent, Callaway has managed to wring out 757 horsepower and 777 lb-ft of torque from the Z06's V8.
In order to keep all of that power running cool, the Callaway package also includes an upgraded intercooler.
Callaway says its Corvette Z06 is good for a 0-60 run of just 2.8 seconds, which is 0.1 second better than stock. The quarter mile can be dispatched in 10.5 seconds at 131mph. Callaway didn't mention the car's top speed.
The Callaway Z06 package retails for $16,995, which of course does not include the price of the car itself. Expect to shell out at least another $79,000 for that.
