Bugatti teases mystery modelby Ronan Glon
The new model will likely be unveiled at the Shanghai Motor Show.
Volkswagen's Bugatti division has published a mysterious teaser image on its official Facebook page.
Accompanied by the caption "the stage is set," the photo depicts two metallic hangar doors that are opened just enough to let in a ray of sunlight. Unfortunately, the Molsheim-based firm did not provide any details about what model the image previews.
circulating around the auto industry claim that the new model is an extreme evolution of the Veyron Super Sport that will churn out up to 1,600 ponies, a 400-horsepower bump over the current Super Sport. If that figure is correct, the 3,500-pound special edition model might reclaim the top speed crown from the Hennessey Venom GT.
Other rumors claim that the new model is a concept car that will preview the 16C Galibier, a luxury sedan powered by a 16-cylinder engine that will churn out around 1,400 horsepower thanks to a two-stage supercharger.
Official details about Bugatti's enigmatic new model will be available in the coming days. The car will likely greet the public for the first time at the Shanghai Motor Show that will open its doors later this month.
