Fiery crash kills 7 on Florida highway
Tragically, most of the victims were reportedly children on their way to Disney World.
A fiery crash involving several semis and other vehicles on Interstate 75 near Gainesville, Florida, yesterday has reportedly resulted in seven deaths.
The victims include five children that were riding in a large passenger van from a Louisiana church that was carrying at least 10 people to Disney World, according to a WTSP report citing police statements.
The collision is said to have involved two tractor-trailers and two passenger vehicles. The fire has been blamed on spilled diesel fuel from the semis.
An email sent between members of the church and obtained by WTSP suggests the pastor's wife sustained several broken ribs, while another adult woman riding in the van was pregnant and delivered her baby Thursday evening.
Authorities are still investigating the cause of the accident.
