You Won’t Out-Run This Hot Subaru WRX STI Police Machine

The iconic Rally-bred Subaru WRX STI makes an ideal police machine. Check out where the police use one.

If you are in Itasca, Illinois, just west of Chicago, you better slow down and obey the speed limit. This sleepy little Illinois town is patrolled by the Subaru WRX STI performance sedan. It only has a population of 8,728 (2016) and you would think everyone already knows to watch out for the Lapis Blue Pearl WRX STI performance car.

Itasca, a village in DuPage County, is located approximately 27 miles northwest of downtown Chicago. It’s close to O'Hare International Airport, and you can bet there are plenty of travelers in a hurry to make their flight when they speed through the sleepy little town.

The Subaru WRX STI comes with a 305 horsepower 2.5-liter turbocharged engine, and has a 0-60 mph time of 4.8 seconds and a top speed of 174 mph in its stock form, so not many drivers will get away from the this hot Subaru WRX STI police machine. The Itasca police department put on a livery that includes their name and a checked flag that runs on the hood and down the sides.

The STI sits out front of the on Irving Park Rd just begging to be driven by one of the department’s 11 police officers. So if you are ever near Itasca, Illinois, you better slow down or you could see this Lapis Blue Pearl WRX STI police machine’s lights in your rear view mirror.
